Jenny Racicot, a former partner of Platner, publicly filed a complaint. According to her account to Politico, the incident occurred in 2023. She stated that he entered her house without permission. Furthermore, she reported that he sexually assaulted her while under the influence of alcohol.

Racicot stated that at that moment she realized there was no consent. She claimed that she felt trapped and without means of defense. Her testimony generated a wave of reactions in the political environment. Several party leaders began demanding the candidate’s immediate resignation.

Platner categorically denied all allegations against him. In a video posted on social media, he claimed they were false. However, he acknowledged that the situation was very difficult for him. He asserted that he admitted no guilt in suspending his electoral campaign.
