U.S. President Donald Trump received the remains of four military personnel killed in Iranian attacks in the Middle East on Wednesday. The solemn ceremony took place at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, home to the Department of Defense’s main morgue.

These deaths represent the first U.S. casualties since the ceasefire agreed upon last month collapsed, reigniting cross-border fighting in the region.

Who are the fallen soldiers?

The victims lost their lives in separate but related incidents tied to escalating tensions with Iran. Three of the military personnel died in Jordan following attacks carried out by the Revolutionary Guard with missiles and drones. The Department of Defense identified them as Tyler James Feehan, age 25; Isabella Gonzales, age 19; and Angel Rampersad, age 28.

The fourth military personnel killed is Michael Emmanuel Swinton, age 30, who died in Iraq due to the detonation of an Iranian-origin drone. With these victims, the total number of U.S. military personnel killed in the Middle East has reached 18 since February 28, 2026. On that date, the United States and Israel launched a major offensive against Iran, which triggered the current conflict.

What warning did Trump issue to Iran?

Before traveling to Dover Air Force Base, Donald Trump issued a stern warning. In statements to the media in Washington, the Republican president asserted that Iran “will pay dearly” for the death of U.S. troops.
