According to Bedford, the damaged section measured approximately 183 meters. He explained that construction workers accidentally damaged it during works in New Jersey.

Additionally, he indicated that it was necessary to clear airspace for safety reasons. According to his estimate, approximately 90 flights were diverted to other regions of the country.
