Netflix launched a new live-action Scooby-Doo series and has already set its worldwide premiere for 2027. The production, titled Scooby-Doo: Origins, will present Scooby as a real dog for the first time instead of a digital version.
The series was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, and will seek to revitalize the franchise with a teenage mystery story. The project revisits the origin of the group of friends, but with a modern tone and supernatural plot. According to Netflix, the approach will be a reimagining that preserves the classic spirit.
For over 50 years, Scooby-Doo has been one of the most recognizable brands in popular culture. The franchise includes 3 theatrical films, more than a dozen animated series, and nearly 40 direct-to-home market films. In this new chapter, the commitment remains clear: update without erasing the essence.
What Will the New Netflix Series Show?
The story takes place during Shaggy and Daphne’s final summer at camp. A supernatural crime forces them to investigate alongside a lost Great Dane puppy. That puppy may have witnessed what happened and becomes the center of the mystery.
