Mexican regional music wrote a new chapter in Hollywood. The group Intocable, originally from Zapata, Texas, received a star on the Walk of Fame. This recognition consolidates more than 30 years of career and its impact on both sides of the border. The distinction came in the Recording category and became star number 2,852, located at 7083 Hollywood Boulevard.
The ceremony took place on July 16 before hundreds of fans, colleagues, and industry executives. All of them accompanied the group in one of the most significant moments of their career. Intocable are winners of Grammy and Latin Grammy awards. The members brought to the heart of Los Angeles a story built by mixing Tejano, norteño, pop, rock, and cumbia sounds. The group solidified a style that today is a mandatory reference in Mexican regional music.
What does this star mean for Intocable and Mexican music?
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce highlighted that Intocable is part of the 2026 Class of the Walk of Fame. This is a group of artists selected for their sustained contribution to world entertainment. In his remarks, Nir Seroussi, president of Interscope Capitol Miami, recalled that “35 years ago, a band like Intocable was not supposed to exist.” This is because they broke the rules by mixing Tejano, norteño, and rock influences. For the executive, the fact that the group today has a star in Hollywood demonstrates that their artistic venture paved the way for future generations.
